Abraham Prescott Bass Violin, modified 7/8 size, gamba shaped flatback model
Top table is 4-piece sectional plate of fine vertical grained fir.
Back table is 2 piece plate of broad flamed maple
Ribs are of matching character maple to that of the back table
Neck and scroll are original of moderately flamed maple.
Gears are Baker brass English tuners mounted on decorative brass plates installed at a later
period.
The varnish is in excellent condition, most original with a deep brownish amber color, typical
of Prescott Workmanshipl.
Instrument is in excellent condition and is a magnificent orchestral bass with great projection.
